CINCINATTI REDS 1983 ON-FIELD "HOME" CAP
This 59FIFTY fitted cap is one of the first to feature a green undervisor, which was though to reflect the light away from the player's eyes.
This six-panel design is made from wool and cotton, with a buckrum backed crown, cloth taping and a perspiration resistant sweatband.
PITTSBURGH PIRATES THROWBACK CAP
First shown at the 1985 MLB Winter Meetings, this throwback-inspired cap was kept under lock and key, only shown to teams during appointments.
The Pittsburgh Pirates were the only team who picked-up the cap. The pillbox style is a 2-panel fitted cap, complete with a grey undervisor and yellow piping.
1988 CALIFORNIA ANGELS ON-FIELD CAP
The 59FIFTY was part of the newly named Diamond Collection. This collection was designed to bring all MLB team licenses under one roof at Major League Baseball, ceating a more uniform brand and product offering.

Developed by David Koch and Major League Baseball, the addition of the MLB batterman logo on the cap would authenticate it as an official MLB on-field product.
This new design would be specifically used for the caps the players wore on the field.
