What is an A-Frame cap?

Why is it called an A-Frame cap?

It’s all about the shape. Once you merge the front panels into one, the centre seam disappears and the crown gets pulled up into a tall, peaked shape with steep sides, a bit like an actual A-frame. That’s where the bold, structured look comes from, plus the extra height and a bit more room at the front.

Is an A-Frame the same as a trucker cap?

Not really, no. A-Frame is about the crown shape; trucker is about the back, the mesh panels that keep things cool. They do team up a lot, like on the 9FORTY® A-Frame Trucker, but plenty of A-Frames are full fabric with no mesh at all, so an A-Frame won’t always be a trucker.

Are E-Frame hats comfortable?

Yes, they are. The deeper crown spreads the coverage out a bit more evenly, and because the front’s structured, it holds its shape without digging in. The snapback or strap lets you get it sitting just right, and the curved visor sits naturally on your face. What's the difference between an A-Frame and a 59FIFTY®?

Are A-Frame caps good for small heads?

They can be, just bear a couple of things in mind. The snapback or strap pulls the cap right in for smaller sizes, and the height can actually be flattering if you’ve got a rounder or shorter face. That said, if your face is on the small or narrow side and you’d prefer less height up top, an E-Frame or a lower-profile cap will sit closer and look a bit more in proportion.
